The Master in Travel Journalism of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the insurance company IATI and the Altaïr bookstore have jointly organized a series of talks on travel and journalism to reflect, discuss and share experiences related to different topics of current interest . The initiative, titled Traveler Meetings, will begin next Thursday, February 27, at 6.30 pm, and will run until November of this year 2020.
The sessions, which will be divided into conferences, case studies and / or round tables, will be moderated by two students of the ninth edition of the Master in Travel Journalism and will have the participation of journalists, experts and professionals from around the world dedicated to Different areas of the sector.
Santiago Tejedor, co-director of the Master in Travel Journalism and director of the Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the UAB, Alfonso Calzado, CEO of IATI Seguros, and Pere Ortín, director of Altaïr Magazine, will open on Thursday 27 of February this cycle of conversations. Juliana González-Rivera, Colombian journalist and writer, will be the first guest to participate to talk about the invention and the origins of the trip.
The Traveler Meetings will deal with various topics related to travel such as gastronomy, cinema, the LGTBI collective, tourism, the writing of chronicles and the digital world with the aim of reflecting and discussing each one of them.
Martín Caparrós, journalist and writer, Enrique Álex, creator of audiovisual travel content, Xavier Moret, journalist and writer, José Pablo García, journalist and professional travel blogger, Andrea Torres, biologist and ecologist / animalist blogger, and Paty Godoy, journalist and Mexican documentary filmmaker, are some of the guests who will participate in this first series of talks.
At the end of each meeting there will be a traveling network sponsored by IATI with a snack included. It will be a meeting place among travel enthusiasts that aims to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the sector. All sessions will be held at 6.30 pm in the Altaïr bookstore, the largest specialized travel bookstore in Europe (in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 616, Barcelona). Admission will be free until full capacity is reached.
